Event: HUMAN EXPERIENCE by Michelle Salazar

Description: MICHELLE SALAZAR uses subtly erotic cowboy imagery as a metaphor for the romantic notions of strength, courage and rebellion. Her paintings reflect a deeply felt experience of what it means to be human.
Extra: ZOULIE DENG and YU-MING (Y.M.) ZHU continue to exhibit Chinese painting and calligraphy with impromptu demonstrations. Dafe Chen serves as Tea Master of the Chinese Tea Ceremony.

Description: Featured artist is Jeff Matthews of Lewiston, ID. He exhibits a black and white photographic retrospective look at the Seattle anti-war protests of the second US Iraq war. The series includes (20) 20x30 double exposures. The first image taken of industrial complexes in north Idaho by gallery owner, Larry Murphy, and the second exposures taken by artist, Jeff Matthews, around Seattle Westlake Center the day the Iraq war started. The images were serendipitous and it wasn't until developing that the true meaning manifest. A poster is also available for purchase at this event.

Event: Grand opening of Zen Dog Studio and Tea House Gallery

Description: Tea House Gallery features fine art photography by larry murphy and special guest artists. Zoulie Deng presents his traditional Chinese paintings. Tony Tam preserves the old style in his calligraphy. Dafe Chen displays wood carving, vases and other Chinese objects d'art. Tony and Dafe will also serve as Tea Masters in the Chinese Tea Ceremony. Rigdzin Tingkhye will offer a blessing of the new Tea House Gallery.

Extra: Statement: The picture is the high-tech equivalent to quilting. A quilt to comfort our "mental condition" in this time of war.
